The story of YTO began
The grand opening of the First Tractor Plant took place in 1955. China First Tractor Company, was one of 156 major projects and quickly became a leader in China's agricultural industry. The main activities were: production of agricultural machinery and implements, manufacturing of diesel engines and generator sets. Following the changes at the global level, the company quickly identified its main areas of focus and improved.
YTO is reformed in 1981 to become a better company:
- 1983 - The small wheeled tractor was launched.
- 1994 - The former Luoyang Tractor Research Laboratory under the Agricultural Machinery Department was merged with China First Tractor Company.
- 1995 - YTO International was established to export tractors.
- 1997 - China First Tractor Company was renamed YTO Co., Ltd. and YTO began issuing shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
- 2005 - Sales of large wheeled tractors reached 10,000 sets.
- 2006 - More than 100,000 sets of diesel engines were sold, and YTO's value increased to more than RMB 10 billion.
- 2007 - Construction of YTO's industrial park began.
YTO aims higher
- 2009 - YTO and the China-Africa Development Fund signed a framework agreement on comprehensive cooperation to establish the China-Africa Machinery Corporation.
- 2012 - YTO begins listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
- 2018 - Self-driving tractors passed the first round of self-driving tests in China.
- 2019 - YTO led the establishment of the National Agricultural Equipment Innovation Centre, which was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
- 2019 - YTO International continued to improve its overseas business by developing the "international trade + overseas marketing + overseas services" mode, establishing an overseas management system and innovative marketing models.
- 2020 - YTO developed China's first hydrogen-powered cabless tractor equipped with 5G technology; Dongfanghong International Land Port (Luoyang), which is operated by YTO Group, was included in the construction list of the national logistics centre.
- 2021 - YTO's 320HP CVT tractors are launched; YTO's fully autonomous "unmanned" solutions for the production of major food crops are listed as one of the top 10 scientific achievements in China's smart manufacturing; YTO wins the China's Quality Awards.
YTO has made breakthroughs in live shifting, CVT and autonomous driving technologies to further improve tractor performance. Today, YTO tractors are widely used for deep tillage, ploughing, harrowing, rotary tillage, sowing and crop protection on a variety of soils.
Representatives of the plant state: "We will improve the intelligent level of autonomous driving, precision farming and agricultural machinery information service platform to shape the future as an agricultural machinery manufacturer, service provider and information exchange platform."

The pilot base at YTO has a complete chain of performance testing and calibration laboratories to analyse and verify product performance, from materials, paintwork to service life. Thanks to the advanced pilot base, YTO's agricultural machinery is safe, reliable and environmentally friendly.
YTO has a global distribution network of nearly 90 service points through which our products are exported to more than 100 countries and regions. In addition, we have established R&D and manufacturing bases in France, Côte d'Ivoire, South Africa, etc. so that we can respond quickly to customer needs, as well as provide them with reliable and accurate after-sales service. YTO provides its global dealers with an EPC system for online ordering of spare parts.
