The YTO NLX 1404 is equipped with a conventional 7.7-litre water-cooled, in-line six-cylinder engine with an output of 140 horsepower. The fuel system is a combination of in-line fuel injection and mechanical injectors.

The basic configuration involves equipping the tractor with ballast:

the rear axle of 6 ballast of 50 kilograms each
in front, 10 ballast of 50 kilograms each

The gearbox on one of the levers has three ranges for forward movement and a gear responsible for reversing the tractor. There are 4 gears on the other lever, so the model has 12 forward and 4 reverse gears. The clutch is used LUK brand with a diameter of 13 inches. Clutch is dry, double action. The tractor has a four-wheel drive with a mechanical disconnection of the front axle. Differential locking is also performed mechanically.
